this problem? NYC has improved their situation, which other cities have? And, why isn't the general public phased by this information and statistics? I get the impression that the underlying sentiment of the average American is, "as long as it doesn't affect me or people I know directly, why should I care? I don't have to go into those areas". Do you feel this is a correct observation of how the average American feels about homicide in their own country?
